This Soviet Navy enlisted sailor cap features black wool construction with a black rayon lining and a sewn-in cloth manufacturer label in Cyrillic. Across the front, a black tally bears "??????????" (Chernomorets), which translates to "Black Sea Sailor " identifying its association with the Black Sea Fleet. The front is fitted with an enameled red star cockade containing the hammer and sickle, set within a gilt wreath. Attached to the rear are original long black ribbon tails, each printed with a white anchor motif. The cap shows minor handling wear, and fraying at the ribbon ends, while the interior remains clean and the insignia is undamaged. Manufactured during the late Cold War period, circa 1970s–1980s, this cap represents the standard headgear worn by Soviet Navy personnel assigned to the Black Sea Fleet for both service and ceremonial use.
