Presented here is a pair of National Volksarmee (NVA) East German officer visor caps constructed from field gray wool blend cloth with white piping, featuring the distinctive aluminum cockade and red enamel insignia on the front, encircled by a silver-colored metal wreath. Each cap displays a black plastic visor with a ribbed chin cord secured by metal buttons. The interior is lined with tan synthetic leather and fabric, marked clearly with the NVA designation, size 55 and 56, and production numbers. Such caps were standard issue to officers in the German Democratic Republic’s armed forces, produced throughout the Cold War period for formal uniform wear. Both caps show general preservation of form and detail, with inner liner and sweatband elements intact and visible period construction features.
