This pair of authentic WWII German winter mittens measures 11" x 5" and features an extreme late-war (Ersatz) construction. The exterior shells are crafted from crinkled, water-resistant paper-cloth fabric (Papierstoff / spun paper yarn material) with integrated cotton cord ties. The interiors are fully lined with plush natural white shearling/fleeced lambskin for thermal insulation on the Eastern Front. Designed as a three-finger trigger mitten variant, one mitten retains its specialized index finger sleeve while the other exhibits a plain mitten profile, accompanied by a woven suspension cord designed to pass through coat sleeves. The paper-fabric exterior shells remain structurally intact with generalized creasing, light surface dust, and faint ink spots, but no major tears or unraveling seams, while the interior shearling lining remains clean and dense throughout.
