This is a contemporary artisan hand-thrown stoneware clay doumbek (goblet drum), explicitly crafted by studio pottery Artifactorium (also operating under the artisan brand Hawkdancing). It has excellent sound & feel with a large bass and very crisp top end tones. The 'venturi'' shape gives it good volume, bass, and tonal range. The goat skin head is secure. Measures: 12" high x 8" wide at the head. The drum is in good overall condition. The ceramic body shows no visible cracks, chips, or signs of repair. There is minor expected shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim. The rawhide drum head remains taut and intact, showing minor natural staining and color variations consistent with age and use.
