This Korean najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquerware) vase features a globular form with a wide, flared rim and a slightly raised circular pedestal base. The body is finished in a high-gloss black lacquer. The central decorative motif is executed in finely cut, iridescent nacre inlay, depicting a pair of cranes standing on a gnarled pine branch, accompanied by stylized blossoms, a crescent moon, and swirling clouds. In Korean art, the crane and pine tree are traditional symbols of longevity. The underside of the base features two silver-colored marks: a vertical inscription reading Gyeongjo Chilgi-sa (Gyeongjo Lacquerware Company) and a stylized square seal reading Kim Myeong-ho In (Seal of Kim Myeong-ho). Height: 8 inchesThe vase is in very good condition with the mother-of-pearl inlay largely intact and retaining strong iridescence. The high-gloss black lacquer surface shows minor surface dust and light handling marks with faint scratches visible under direct lighting. The foot rim shows minor shelf wear consistent with age and use.
