This three-part antique Chinese pewter warming vessel consists of an outer bowl, a removable inner liner, and a domed lid. The set originated from the city of Shantou (Swatow) in Guangdong Province and features two handles with cast dragon-head terminals, each securing a light green jadeite ring. The domed lid is topped with a fruit-form finial set with an oval orange hardstone cabochon, likely carnelian. The body and lid are decorated with hand-etched floral and foliate bands, with borders executed in a traditional punched-dot technique. Three large Chinese characters are incised on the lid: guo (fruit), ying (fine jade), and li (brilliant). The underside of the lid and the base of the liner bear stamped marks. The marks include the characters for Shantou at the top, a circular center mark containing the surname Yan, and the characters Dian Xi (point tin) at the bottom, signifying high-quality pewter.
