Title: Masked Figure Throwing a Bouquet, in Three Panels Technique: Lithography Measures: 42 x 80 inches overall (106.7 x 203.2 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied. Each of the three panels shows crisp black printed imagery over a warm tan, card-like ground with broad, hand-brushed passages of white. Slight rippling of the sheet is visible near the lower right of the left panel, and minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. No significant tears or losses are apparent in the available images. Each panel is presented in a bright gold-toned frame with molded scroll and foliate ornament, showing minor surface wear. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Acquired by the private collection of the Kapoor family in Delhi from the private collection of the Singh family in Jaipur. Visual Description: A three-part composition that divides a single image across separate framed panels, intended to be hung side by side. The large central panel shows a man in profile wearing a cap, his face covered by a bandana, his body twisted mid-motion as he winds back to throw, rendered in solid, high-contrast black with the dripping, stenciled edges of street imagery. The left panel completes the gesture with his outstretched hand gripping a bouquet of flowers and leaves, the blossoms picked out in white within the black silhouette, while the smaller right panel shows only a fragment of a sleeve and a pointing hand. In each panel, the black imagery sits over a raw, warm tan ground partly covered by loose vertical and horizontal sweeps of white paint, which leave rectangular patches of the ground exposed and evoke a whitewashed wall. Splitting the figure across three frames heightens the sense of movement and turns the throw into a sequence. The stencil-like graphic style, the stark black-and-white contrast, and the substitution of flowers for a projectile reflect the visual language of contemporary street art and its politically charged imagery. The lower edge of the left panel bears a pencil inscription at lower left and the number "50/300" at lower right. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
