Title: Winding Path Between Blossoming Trees Toward a Setting Sun Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 29 x 21 inches (73.7 x 53.3 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied, with intense, saturated coloration and thick, textured brushwork, particularly in the blossoms, sun, and sky. No significant paint losses or tears are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in an ornate carved gilt frame with deeply sculpted foliate and scroll motifs, showing variations in the gilded finish and darker toning within the recesses. Not examined out of the frame. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A luminous landscape in vertical format, organized around a winding path or stream that curves from the bottom of the canvas toward a distant blue mountain. The path is built from broken horizontal strokes of peach, coral, golden yellow, lavender, and pale pink, its surface shimmering as if reflecting the light of the sky. On both sides, trees with dark, slender trunks burst into clouds of blossom in magenta, violet, orchid, and rose pink, their branches arching inward to frame the view. The banks below are dense with green foliage dotted with red and pink flowers and touches of yellow. At the center of the sky, a large golden sun glows in thick, circular strokes of lemon, white, and cream, surrounded by radiating bands of apricot, pink, and orange that give way to swirling cobalt and violet at the upper corners. The cone-shaped blue mountain on the horizon serves as the focal point toward which the path and the framing trees converge. The vivid, high-keyed palette, the energetic brushwork, and the emphasis on light and atmosphere reflect the visual language of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist landscape painting. The lower right bears a painted inscription reading "Claude Monet." This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
