Title: Biomorphic Figure with Eyes, Crescent, and Stars on a Rainbow Ground Technique: Gouache on paper Measures: 13 x 10 inches (33.0 x 25.4 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in generally good visual condition based on the photographs supplied, with bright, saturated coloration, crisp black contours, and a softly brushed, slightly textured background. No significant losses, tears, or creases are apparent in the available images. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related wear may be present. Presented in a gold-toned frame with a brushed, linear finish, showing minor surface wear. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Provenance: Private Colelction Visual Description: A playful, dreamlike composition centered on a large, rounded biomorphic figure set against a softly blended ground that shifts from crimson at upper left through slate gray and sky blue to lime green, lemon yellow, and orange at the lower edge. The figure's body swells in tangerine and orange, enclosing two concentric red-and-black target eyes, a wide almond-shaped eye with a turquoise iris and lashes, and a small green eye near the top beneath a curving black brow. A red teardrop shape wraps around its left side, while a bird-like head with a red beak and three antenna-like strokes rises at the upper left. Sweeping from the upper right, a black crescent banded with turquoise wedges arcs down behind the figure, dotted with green and black discs. Around this central group, the sheet is scattered with small black stars, a stick-and-ball constellation and black kite shape at upper left, wavy lines ending in dots, and a row of green-and-black spheres along the bottom. A black disc set within a red-orange halo glows at the lower right. The simplified, biomorphic forms, the celestial signs, and the primary-color accents reflect the visual language of Surrealist abstraction.
