Annie Sutherland Actress Burlesque Costume. This striking original late 19th-century Victorian cabinet card portrait features American stage actress Annie Sutherland (1867–1948) posing in an elaborate, feathered theatrical stage costume with an ornate headpiece, tights, and lace-up boots. A prominent figure of the Gilded Age Broadway stage who performed in comic operas, vaudeville, and burlesque productions, Sutherland is captured here in a dramatic studio pose beside floral props, making this photograph a desirable acquisition for collectors of Victorian theater ephemera, vintage burlesque history, early stage actresses, and portrait photography. Unbranded/photographer unidentified, estimated c. 1890s, original silver gelatin/albumen photograph print mounted on heavy cardstock board, printed with caption name "ANNIE SUTHERLAND." along the lower margin, measures standard cabinet card size approximately 4.25 x 6.5 inches.
