AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Group of three vintage decorative kitchen trivets featuring colorful country and farm-themed artwork, including one signed design by documented North Carolina artist Rose Kennedy and two coordinating square animal examples. 1. ROSE KENNEDY ~ CAPE CRAFTSMAN, INC. ~ Eight-sided trivet measuring 5.75" across, featuring a whimsical country composition depicting a cloth doll reclining in a wooden rocking chair beneath a colorful patchwork quilt, accompanied by a broom, small dark cat and blue-and-white crock or pitcher. Artwork is signed Rose Kennedy within the design. Reverse is fitted with a cork backing and hanging fixture; beneath the cork, this example was discovered to be manufactured by Cape Craftsman, Inc., Elizabethtown, North Carolina. Online research confirms Rose Kennedy as a southeastern North Carolina artist with a professional background in product and graphic design. Her documented biography specifically notes 18 years working with an art publishing and licensing agency producing watercolor and mixed-media juvenile imagery that was reproduced nationally as prints and on consumer products. Vintage Cape Craftsman decorative village pieces are also documented online as designs by artist Rose Kennedy, providing a direct association between Kennedy and the Elizabethtown company. 2. DUCK TRIVET ~ Square ceramic or composition trivet measuring 4.25" x 4.25", decorated with a white duck having orange bill and feet against a dense blue-and-white floral background. Reverse retains three of the original four black rubber feet, with one foot lacking. 3. PIG TRIVET ~ Matching square trivet measuring 4.25" x 4.25", decorated with a white pig against a dark blue-and-white floral background. Reverse retains the raised mounting structure and rubber feet as photographed. Cape Craftsman, Inc. is documented as a North Carolina decorative giftware and collectible producer, with surviving examples spanning tabletop accessories, decorative ceramics and other home furnishings. The Rose Kennedy example is particularly interesting because the artwork, signature and concealed Cape Craftsman identification connect the piece directly with Kennedy’s documented commercial-design work in southeastern North Carolina. CONDITION REPORT > Duck trivet is lacking one rubber foot.
