AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP ~ SEE MEDIA DISCLAIMER > 1984 U.S. vinyl LP Ammonia Avenue by The Alan Parsons Project, issued by Arista Records as catalog number AL8-8204. The album retains the original cover and glossy printed inner sleeve with period graphics and album-related artwork, an important completeness detail for collectors. The album contains nine tracks including Prime Time, Let Me Go Home, One Good Reason, Since the Last Goodbye, Don’t Answer Me, Dancing on a High Wire, You Don’t Believe, Pipeline and the title track Ammonia Avenue. The album was produced by Alan Parsons, with Eric Woolfson, Lenny Zakatek, Chris Rainbow and Colin Blunstone among the featured vocalists. The album title was inspired by a visit to an ICI petrochemical complex in England, where Eric Woolfson encountered a stark industrial roadway called Ammonia Avenue. That imagery became central to the album’s visual and thematic identity, combining technology, industry and human unease in a manner strongly associated with The Alan Parsons Project’s conceptual style. This particular copy is an identifiable mixed-mastering RCA Indianapolis pressing. Side A carries the PENTHOUSE mastering mark with matrix AL8 8204SA and RCA 8, while Side B is marked STERLING. The combination of PENTHOUSE mastering on one side and STERLING mastering on the other makes this an interesting recognized pressing variant. It is not considered a major rarity by itself, but it is a more specific and collectible configuration than a generic unidentified pressing. The record retains the original Arista labels and illustrated jacket featuring the striking industrial pipework artwork associated with the album. Rear cover includes the complete track listing and original Arista catalog information. A strong 1980s progressive rock and art-rock title with added interest from the documented PENTHOUSE / STERLING mixed-mastering configuration.
