AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP ~ SEE MEDIA DISCLAIMER BELOW > A 12" vinyl LP of Bruce Springsteen ~ Born in the U.S.A., released by Columbia Records in 1984, catalog QC 38653, retaining the original illustrated jacket, photo inner sleeve and double-sided lyric insert. Of particular interest is the early matrix combination present on this example. Side 1 is inscribed PAL-38653-3A and bears the desirable MASTERDISK RL dead-wax marking, identifying mastering by noted engineer Robert Ludwig at Masterdisk. Side 2 is inscribed PBL-38653-2A. The 3A ~ 2A pairing places this among the earlier documented U.S. pressings of the album and is the feature that separates this copy from the enormous number of later standard pressings. The red Columbia labels carry the QC 38653 catalog number, with the original jacket retaining the period barcode 0 7464-38653-1. The album includes the complete original printed material, including the E Street Band photo sleeve and lyric sheet. Released in June 1984, Born in the U.S.A. became one of the defining American rock albums of the decade, producing seven Top 10 singles and establishing Springsteen at the height of his commercial career. The combination of the early matrix pairing, MASTERDISK RL mastering, original inserts and complete packaging makes this a substantially more collectible example than a routine later pressing.
