Murano Italian Pink Art Glass Basket. Dimensions: 7 inches high x 13.25 inches wide x 5.75 inches deep. Handmade Italian Murano art glass decorative basket in a soft rose-pink coloration, retaining its original foil label reading Murano – Hand Made in Italy. The sculptural free-form body features a broad, undulating rim with dramatically pulled sides rising into a pair of tall, sweeping open handles. Thick hand-worked glass construction creates attractive variations in color and transparency, with a substantial clear-to-pink rim and organically modeled form. A striking example of vintage Venetian decorative glass, combining the fluidity and asymmetry characteristic of hand-worked Murano production with an appealing mid-century modern sculptural form. Original Murano label remains affixed to the underside. Condition: Very good vintage condition with light surface wear. Small bubbles, inclusions and irregularities inherent to handmade glass may be present. Original label exhibits surface wear. No obvious major chips or cracks observed. Auction house considers photographs to be part of the condition report.
