Elvis Presley TeleMania Singing & Dancing Telephone & Memorabilia. Telephone: 14.25 inches high × 8.5 inches wide × 10.5 inches deep. Book: 11.25 inches high × 8.75 inches wide. Photograph: approximately 4.75 inches × 3.5 inches. An Elvis Presley memorabilia group centered around a limited-edition TeleMania animated telephone, officially licensed and authorized by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. The telephone features a dimensional Elvis figure dressed in black with guitar and microphone, mounted atop the silver-tone telephone base. Manufacturer’s plaque identifies it as the “Limited Edition Elvis Presley Telephone,” serial no. 0000419, with TeleMania branding and design/technology licensed by Tilbor-Hetman Inventors. The telephone was designed so the Elvis figure dances while music plays in place of a conventional ring; period information for this model indicates the musical/animated feature plays “Hound Dog.” The telephone dates to approximately 2000, with the base bearing an Entertainer of the Century / 2000 promotional emblem. Similar TeleMania Elvis phones were produced as officially licensed collectible novelty telephones around this period. Later examples of the singing and dancing telephone are also documented. Accompanied by two Elvis Presley books: Elvis Presley: Unseen Archives by Marie Clayton, an extensively illustrated photographic biography, and Elvis: The King Remembered by Susan M. Moyer and Jerry Osborne, published in 2002 with an audio CD of Elvis interviews and related recordings. Also included is a framed color photograph depicting Elvis during his U.S. Army period, together with an additional loose example of the photograph, dated 1959. I would catalog the photograph as “dated 1959” rather than claim it was printed in 1959 unless there is provenance establishing it as a period print. Telephone: 14.25 inches high × 8.5 inches wide × 10.5 inches deep. Book: 11.25 inches high × 8.75 inches wide. Photograph: approximately 4.75 inches × 3.5 inches. Condition: Telephone shows scattered surface wear and marks consistent with age and display. There appears to be damage/breakage at one of the figures foot attachment points, visible in the photographs. Books exhibit handling and shelf wear. Photograph displays age-related fading. Auction house considers photographs to be part of the condition report.
