Victor Victrola VV-IX Talking Machine with 34 Records & Record Albums. Early 20th-century Victor Talking Machine Company Victrola Model VV-IX tabletop phonograph, manufactured in Camden, New Jersey. Housed in an oak cabinet with hinged upper lid, original His Master’s Voice, Victrola decal, hand-crank mechanism, metal tone arm and reproducer, and lower double-door record storage compartment fitted with divided shelves. The manufacturers metal identification plate and original “License Notice—Victrola IX” paper label, dated August 1, 1913, remain present. Accompanied by 34 assorted period phonograph records, housed in several vintage record-holding albums/books, including early brown paper-sleeve albums and a later protective album. A wonderful group for collectors of early recorded music, phonographs, Victor memorabilia, and early 20th-century American technology. Dimensions: 14 inches high x 17 inches wide x 20.5 inches deep. Condition: The Victrola is in antique condition with expected age-related wear to the oak cabinet, including minor scratches, scuffs, finish wear, staining and other surface imperfections. Labels and identification plate show age and wear. Record albums exhibit considerable age-related wear, particularly to the paper sleeves and bindings. Records are in assorted condition and have not been individually graded. The Victrola does play at the time of cataloging; however, the auction house does not guarantee the continued operation or mechanical condition of antique mechanical devices. Auction house considers photographs to be part of the condition report.
