Alexandra Nechita — Dear Theo / Letters From the Past — Signed Limited Edition Lithograph. A colorful 2005 limited-edition lithograph by Alexandra Nechita (Romanian-American, b. 1985), executed in the artist's distinctive Cubist-inspired figurative style. The composition combines overlapping abstracted figures, birds and organic forms in a warm palette of ochre, orange, cream and gray. The work is pencil signed and dated “Nechita ’05 lower right and numbered 56/195 lower left. The accompanying Princess Fine Arts Certificate of Authenticity identifies the work as Dear Theo, published in 2005 and printed at IDEM (formerly Mourlot), Paris, France. Interestingly, accompanying correspondence from Wentworth Gallery confirms that Dear Theo and Letters From the Past are the same image and that the title was subsequently changed to Letters From the Past. A virtually identical example, number 49/195, with the same 40.5 × 34.5-inch framed dimensions, was offered by Selkirk Auctioneers in 2015 as Dear Theo, noting that the image was subsequently known as Letters From the Past. Artwork Dimensions: 23 × 17 inches. image; 27 × 20.5 inches sheet, per accompanying certificate. Framed Dimensions: 40.5 × 34.5 inches. Condition: Very good overall condition. The lithograph appears clean with strong, well-preserved coloration and no major visible condition issues. Presented under glass with black matting in an elaborate gilt and dark-finished frame showing minor wear consistent with age and display. Accompanied by Princess Fine Arts Certificate of Authenticity and related correspondence. This auction house considers the photos to be the condition report.
