Itzchak Tarkay (Israeli, 1935–2012), Indigo Chapeau, 2002, seriolithograph in colors on paper depicting an elegantly dressed woman wearing a dramatic indigo-blue hat, seated against a richly patterned interior and garden background. Executed in Tarkays characteristic decorative style with saturated color, flattened perspective, and stylized female figure. Signed in the plate lower right. Presented under glazing with coordinating matting in a decorative dark-finished frame. Accompanied by a Fine Art Sales, Inc. Certificate of Authenticity identifying the work as Indigo Chapeau, 2002, and a February 5, 2004 Fine Art Sales appraisal identifying the medium as seriolithograph in color on paper and giving the artwork dimensions as 25 × 25 3/8 inches. Registration No. 132149.7674. The 2004 document stated a gallery retail replacement value of $590. Artwork: 25 × 25 3/8 inches, per accompanying documentation. Frame: 36 × 36 inches. Documentation: Certificate of Authenticity and 2004 appraisal included. Condition: Very good overall condition with strong color. Frame exhibits age-appropriate wear and losses to the finish, particularly along portions of the molding. Not examined out of frame. Photos are considered part of the condition report.
