Decorative pair of cloisonné enamel vases, each of baluster form with flared rim and dark midnight-blue ground intricately decorated with scrolling foliate motifs, stylized flowers, and colorful birds within shield-shaped reserves. The finely executed enamel work is highlighted with copper wire partitions and accented by geometric borders around the neck and rim. The rich palette of greens, rusts, blues, whites, and gold tones creates a striking decorative presentation characteristic of late 19th- to early 20th-century Asian cloisonné production. Each vase measures approximately 7 inches high x 3.25 inches diameter. The pair displays well together and would make an attractive addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts or as a distinctive interior design accent. Likely late 19th to early 20th century, in the manner of Japanese or Chinese cloisonné wares produced for the export market. Condition: Overall good estate condition with age-related wear. One vase exhibits a noticeable area of enamel loss and restoration to the shoulder and upper body, with additional scattered enamel losses, surface scratches, craquelure, and wear to the enamel and metal mounts. Minor edge wear and oxidation to the metal rims and bases are present. No major dents observed. This auction house considers the photographs to be the condition report. Provenance: From the estate of a distinguished Georgia physician, whose collection of fine art, antiques, jewelry, and decorative objects was carefully assembled over a period of decades.
