Bystrom 44 Magnum 3 Die Pistol Set in Box

A vintage three piece pistol die set in 44 Magnum from Bystrom, sold through Minnesota Shooters Supply of Minneapolis. The box label reads 3 PIECE PISTOL DIES CALIBER 44 MAG. The set holds a sizing die stamped 44 SIZER, an expanding die and a bullet seating die stamped 44 MAG, along with a lock ring and two threaded stems. A three die pistol set is the classic setup for a revolver cartridge. The sizer squeezes the fired case back to size and knocks out the primer, the expander opens the mouth just enough to start a cast or jacketed bullet without shaving lead, and the seater sets bullet depth and rolls the crimp into the cannelure. These are older steel dies and are not carbide, so cases need lube before sizing. Condition is good. The die bodies show honest blue and a light gray patina from age with no heavy rust and clean threads. The cardboard box is worn, stained and split at two corners but still holds the set together.
