Lee 223 WSSM 2 Die Set 90446 with Shell Holder

A Lee reloading die set for the 223 Winchester Super Short Magnum, item 90446, in the red Lee flip top box. The set is two dies, being the full length sizing and decapping die and the bullet seating die, together with the shell holder, a yellow 2.8 cubic centimeter powder dipper and the printed Lee instruction sheet. A die body is stamped LEE 223 WSSM. The 223 WSSM is a short, fat, high capacity case that pushes a 55 grain .224 bullet close to 3800 feet per second, which made it one of the fastest factory varmint rounds ever offered. Winchester dropped the line, so factory ammunition is scarce and expensive and every owner handloads. Dies for a discontinued short magnum are exactly the kind of thing that is hard to replace once you need one. Dies are clean with light surface oil and normal handling marks, threads and lock rings are intact and no rust or galling is visible in the photos. Condition is very good.
