Beautiful hand-knotted Persian Bidjar rug featuring a traditional geometric medallion composition in rich red, deep navy blue, soft blue, ivory, green, and warm accent tones. The central multi-sided medallion is surrounded by an exceptionally detailed repeating Herati-style floral pattern, framed by multiple intricate guard borders and a broad floral main border. Herati designs, geometric medallions, and saturated red and indigo palettes are strongly associated with traditional Bidjar weaving. Measures approximately 43" x 69" including the fringe. Bidjar rugs originate from the Kurdish weaving region of western Iran and are especially prized for their dense, durable hand-knotted construction, earning them the traditional nickname “Iron Rugs of Persia.” This attractive smaller-format Persian rug offers wonderful color and intricate detail for an entryway, bedside, sitting area, or layered rug display. See photos for pattern, fringe, colors, dimensions, and overall condition.
