Original Jeff Cochran oil on canvas titled “Invitation,” depicting a luminous, atmospheric landscape with a quiet body of water surrounded by trees rendered in warm gold, amber, brown, and muted green tones. The richly textured surface and softened, almost dreamlike treatment are characteristic of Cochran’s landscape work, which draws heavily from the natural environment surrounding his home in Taos, New Mexico. Cochran has been a professional oil painter for more than 30 years, and his landscapes are known for their impasto texture, romantic atmosphere, and meditative quality. The painting measures 30" x 38" and is signed “Cochran” at the lower left. Importantly, this piece is accompanied by Wilde Meyer Gallery documentation identifying the artist, title, medium, and dimensions, along with a separate artist biography from the gallery. Wilde Meyer has a longstanding relationship with Cochran and has exhibited his work in both Tucson and Scottsdale. A substantial original Southwestern contemporary landscape with excellent gallery documentation and strong decorative presence. Cochran’s comparable landscapes have been offered by Wilde Meyer in the several-thousand-dollar range, including a 33.5" x 39.5" work listed at $2,900 and a 36" x 38" work listed at $4,800, although these are gallery asking prices rather than auction values. See photos for textured paint surface, signature, gallery documentation, dimensions, and overall condition.
