This collection of vintage paper ephemera consists of twenty-one individual black-and-white postcards and one multi-view color souvenir mailing folder, featuring historic landmarks and sites in Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Virginia. The postcards highlight the interior art and architecture of the Library of Congress, with several cards depicting specific murals including Labor, The Cairn, Hieroglyphics, Oral Tradition, and Comus. Other subjects in the collection include the Washington Monument, Pennsylvania Avenue featuring period streetcars, the Pan American Union Building, the Custis-Lee Mansion, the State, War and Navy Building, the U.S. Capitol, and views of Mount Vernon. The souvenir mailing folder, titled West View of Mansion, contains color lithographic views of George Washington's Mount Vernon estate. Included are interior depictions of Mrs. Washington's Sitting Room, the Nellie Custis Room, and the Kitchen, alongside exterior views of the mansion and tomb. The folder bears a 1928 copyright and publication mark for the B.S. Reynolds Company of Washington, D.C., with printing by Curt Teich and Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The individual cards are unposted and remain blank on the reverse. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Postcards approx. 3.5 in x 5.5 in. Condition: The collection is in good vintage condition. The cardstock exhibits natural toning consistent with age. Minor wear is visible at the edges and corners of the individual cards. The souvenir mailing folder shows wear and light creasing along the original fold lines and the edges of the outer envelope. The postcards are unposted.
