An Art Deco sterling silver-backed hairbrush featuring a fine engine-turned linear pattern across the reverse. The design centers a vacant oval cartouche framed by a laurel wreath and a ribbon bow. The brush is designed with a tapered handle and light-colored bristles set into a cream-colored composite base. The silver collar is stamped with a lion passant, an anchor, a date letter, and a maker's mark (all unconfirmed, recheck). Additional markings include PAT. No 247028, RD 711628, and the word STERLING. Length approx. 26.7 cm (measured against a ruler) Gross weight 174 g (measured on a scale). Condition: Fair antique condition. The silver back shows minor surface scratches and light tarnish consistent with age. The handle exhibits significant wear with visible flaking and loss to the dark surface finish. The cream-colored composite bristle bed is heavily crazed and cracked. The bristles remain largely intact.
