A group of four sterling silver and enamel badges relating to Canadian civilian and home-front service, likely dating to the Second World War period. The collection includes a Canadian Red Cross Society (C.R.C.S.) Women's War Work badge, featuring a white enamel border and a red enamel cross set against a textured gilt centre. The reverse is stamped STERLING with a maker's mark of a letter S inside a circle (recheck maker). Also included is a Victory Merit Award screw-back lapel pin, featuring a prominent red enamel V for Victory surmounted by a spread-winged eagle above a gear motif and stars. The reverse and the screw-on nut are both stamped STERLING. Completing the group is a pair of corporate long-service pins for 5 and 10 years, manufactured by the prominent Canadian jeweller Birks. These pins feature a stylised triangular A logo decorated with orange and black enamel. Both are stamped BIRKS STERLING on the reverse. Weight: 10.37 g Dimensions: Badges range from approx. 15 mm to 22 mm in diameter (measured against scale). Condition: The badges are in good vintage condition, exhibiting an age-appropriate patina and some light surface tarnish to the silver components. The enamel remains largely intact across all four pieces. All fasteners, including the pin-backs and the screw-back nut, are present and appear functional.
