A vintage two-piece teacup and saucer set crafted from fine bone china. The set features a scalloped rim accented with hand-applied gold gilding. The saucer is finished with a pale blue ground surrounding a white center well, decorated with a landscape scene depicting silver birch trees and a foreground of yellow and blue primroses. The matching footed teacup has a white exterior with two gold bands and a scrolled, gilded handle. The interior of the cup is finished in a matching pale blue with a large floral spray echoing the saucer design. The base of the teacup bears a grey underglaze factory mark for Paragon China Ltd., featuring a double royal warrant for HM The Queen and HM Queen Mary. This mark dates the set to the period between approximately 1939 and 1952. The mark includes the text PARAGON, BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE QUEEN & H.M. QUEEN MAR, FINE BONE CHINA, ENGLAND, REGD. Small hand-painted marks in brown and orange are also present on the base. Condition: The set is in good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is light wear to the gold gilding on the rims and handle consistent with age. The unglazed foot rim of the teacup shows minor shelf-wear staining.
