Two volumes written by H.V. Morton and published by Rich & Cowan, London. The lot includes In the Steps of the Master and In the Steps of St. Paul. Both volumes are bound in publisher's cloth and retain their original color-illustrated dust jackets designed by the artist E. A. Cox, whose name is visible as E. A. COX. on the lower right of the front covers. The dust jacket for In the Steps of the Master includes a copyright page stating, First published in Great Britain October 1934 / Reprinted December 1934 / Reprinted December 1934 / Reprinted March 1935 / First Edition 100,000 copies / Second Edition 35,000 copies / Third Edition 25,000 copies / Fourth Edition 50,000 copies. The volume for In the Steps of St. Paul contains a handwritten ink inscription on the top right of the map-printed endpaper reading E.M. Stark. Both spines state they contain 24 ILLUSTRATIONS. Measured against a ruler, the height of the volumes is approximately 19 cm. Condition: The dust jackets are in poor condition, exhibiting significant chipping, large areas of paper loss especially along the spines, tanning, and black adhesive or paper residue on the front face of the St. Paul volume. The internal pages and endpapers show age-related toning.
