An assortment of four vintage religious texts consisting of three editions of the Holy Bible and one New Testament. The largest volume is a 1902 edition of The Holy Bible, Oxford Facsimile Series, No. 3, printed at the University Press for the British and Foreign Bible Society. It is bound in black pebble-grained leather with gilt lettering to the spine and cover. A blue flexible leather-bound Cambridge edition of The Holy Bible features a gilt Masonic square and compasses symbol with the letter G on the front cover. The title page identifies it as a Ruby 24mo printing by Cambridge University Press. The third volume is a black cloth-bound Holy Bible and Church Hymnary with red-edged pages. An interior bookplate records a presentation from Kilwinning Mansefield U.P. Church to David Blakely for regular attendance at Church and Sabbath School during the year 1922. The smallest item is a tan softcover New Testament bearing the gilt royal monogram of King George VI on the cover. A handwritten presentation inscription inside dates to May 18, 1947, gifted to Ian Blakely by the British and Foreign Bible Society in Canada and Newfoundland. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): Largest Bible: Height approx. 20.8 cm Black Cloth Hymnary: Height approx. 16.5 cm Masonic Bible: Height approx. 14.5 cm New Testament: Height approx. 12.2 cm. Condition: The collection exhibits varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. The black cloth-bound 1922 volume shows significant deterioration to the spine, including cloth loss and vertical tearing. The leather-bound volumes show scuffing to the edges and corners, with some loss to the leather at the head and tail of the spines. Internal pages show general toning throughout. The tan New Testament exhibits light edge wear and minor soiling to the covers.
