Antique Singer Model 66 treadle sewing machine dating to 1917, identified by serial number G5251283, which falls within Singer’s February 20, 1917 allocation for Model 66 machines. The black cast-iron machine retains its colorful red, gold, and green decorative decals, large gold “SINGER” lettering, and Singer medallion, and is mounted in a dark oak treadle cabinet with multiple drawers, carved and applied decorative details, fold-over top, and ornate cast-iron base with pierced foot pedal and “SINGER” crossbar. The cabinet and machine show substantial age-related wear including scratches, scuffs, finish loss, staining, oxidation, surface grime, decal wear, and losses to the wood finish; mechanical operation has not been verified and the machine should be considered untested. A strong early-20th-century Singer example with attractive surviving decoration and original-style treadle furniture. Measures 30"H x 36"W x 18"D.
