Early 20th-century New Home treadle sewing machine mounted in a quarter-sawn oak cabinet with fold-out work surface, carved drawer fronts, cast-iron treadle base, large drive wheel, and decorative pierced foot pedal. The black-finished sewing head retains portions of its original gilt floral scroll decoration and appears to read “New Home” along the arm. The machine folds beneath the tabletop and is accompanied by its shaped oak dust cover as well as a fitted accessory case containing assorted presser feet, attachments, keys, and sewing implements. The oak cabinet displays an attractive grain but shows substantial age and use, including scratches, finish wear, dark staining and discoloration to the top, edge wear, and scattered marks; the machine itself has finish loss, oxidation, and considerable wear to the original decoration. Cord is damaged. Measures 39"H x 35"W x 16"D and 39"H x 44"W x 16"D with top extended.
