Large vintage Philco floor-model tube radio housed in a substantial walnut-finished wood cabinet with rounded Art Deco corners, contrasting figured veneer paneling, horizontal banding, and a tall lower speaker grille composed of vertical wooden slats. The upper control panel is fitted with twin tuning knobs flanking an illuminated-style horizontal dial marked from 55 through 160, while the central figured panel is prominently marked “PHILCO.” The open back reveals the original-style tube chassis and large speaker assembly, with chassis number label A 89486 visible. The cabinet displays considerable age-related wear including scratches, scuffs, finish loss, abrasions, small veneer losses, and heavier wear along the sides and upper surfaces; interior components show dust and oxidation. Electrical and radio operation have not been verified and the set should be considered untested. A substantial pre-/early postwar-style Philco console with strong decorative appeal for an antique radio or advertising collection. Measures 37"H x 26.5"W x 10"D.
