Substantial antique English fire bucket constructed of heavy black leather with a reinforced rolled rim, stitched vertical seam, and thick arched leather carrying handle secured by large metal rings and leather mounts. The deep cylindrical form retains a dark interior and shows traditional utilitarian construction associated with leather fire buckets and military or institutional equipment. One of the metal handle rings is stamped “ENGLAND.” The bucket shows considerable age and use, including surface scuffs, scratches, creasing, finish loss, exposed reddish underlayer, wear to the rim and base, oxidation to the hardware, and general handling wear throughout, while retaining a strong decorative and functional antique character. Measures 18.5"x 9.25" with handle
