Large mid-century carved wood wall mirror featuring a broad rectangular form with a gracefully arched upper crest and warm medium-brown finish. The frame is ornamented across the crown with carved fruit, berries, and foliage, centered beneath the highest point of the arch, while deeply rolled scrollwork accents the upper corners and smaller carved floral details appear at the sides. The restrained molded lower rail and substantial vertical stiles give the mirror a handsome furniture-like presence, suitable for use over a dresser, sideboard, mantel, or console. The mirror plate shows substantial age-related deterioration to the silvering, including cloudy areas, spotting, darkened speckling, scratches, and extensive crackled/desilvered patches, particularly along the lower and upper portions. The wooden frame has numerous scuffs, scratches, nicks, abrasions, small cracks and separations, minor losses to carved details, and areas of finish wear consistent with age and use; one lower corner shows a noticeable chipped/lost section, and cracking is visible around portions of the upper carved decoration. Measures 50" x 20".
