Large early 20th-century framed black-and-white print titled The Leopard Skin, after British artist Isaac Snowman, presenting a charming Victorian interior scene in which four elaborately dressed children cautiously investigate a dramatic leopard-skin rug spread before them, the composition enriched by carved furnishings, scattered rose petals, and finely rendered period costume. The image is signed “Snowman” within the plate at lower right and is presented with a shaped title window reading “The Leopard Skin.” The National Trust documents this composition as a circa-1903 print produced by C. W. Faulkner & Co. of London, and another auction record identifies the work as after Isaac Snowman. Housed under glass in a substantial dark-stained wood frame with stepped molding, gilt inner liner, and period-style matting. The mat and surrounding paper show pronounced age toning, foxing, spotting, and discoloration; the frame exhibits scuffs, scratches, finish wear, small losses and oxidation/tarnishing to the gilt liner, and the glass is cracked at the upper left corner as pictured. Despite the age-related wear, the large scale and evocative subject give the work strong decorative appeal as a surviving example of turn-of-the-century Victorian genre imagery. Sight measures 27.75" x 17.75". Frame measures 40" x 30". Large early 20th-century black-and-white print after British genre painter Frederick Morgan, titled Little Lady Bountiful, depicting an idyllic outdoor picnic scene in which a finely dressed mother and children share food with two barefoot country children at the edge of a wooded landscape. The richly detailed composition includes a laid picnic cloth with tea service, baskets, fruit and flowers, while the surrounding foliage and expressive figures exemplify Morgan’s sentimental Victorian and Edwardian genre imagery. The work is signed “Fred Morgan” within the image at lower right and retains a shaped title panel reading “Little Lady Bountiful.” The composition is documented by the National Trust as a print after Frederick Morgan and was produced by C. W. Faulkner & Co.; period examples are associated with the original 1904 composition. Presented under glass with broad toned matting, gilt inner liner, and a substantial dark-stained wood frame with stepped molding. The frame shows oxidation/tarnishing to the gilt liner along with scuffs, scratches, small nicks, and general finish wear; the matting and paper exhibit age-related toning, foxing, spotting, and discoloration consistent with an antique print. Sight measures 27.5" x 17.5". Frame measures 40" x 30.5".
