Striking decorative mask executed in a stylized Mesoamerican manner, with the face covered in green faux-malachite composite material designed to imitate the bold banding and swirling patterns of natural malachite. Iridescent abalone-style shell panels frame the forehead, jawline, and sides, producing flashes of green, violet, gold, and silver against the deep emerald tones of the central face. The mask features pierced eyes and mouth, a broad angular nose, pronounced brow, and squared architectural contours, and is mounted upright on a rectangular black display base. A later decorative interpretation inspired by Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican ceremonial masks rather than an archaeological artifact. The piece shows some scuffs, light scratches, surface wear, small irregularities and losses along a few mosaic edges, and wear to the display base consistent with previous handling and display. Measures 8.5" H x 6.75" W x 3.25" D.
