Decorative assembled collection of antique and vintage fireplace and hearth implements featuring hand-worked wrought iron construction alongside a pair of polished brass tools. The group includes multiple elongated iron pot hangers or trammel-type bars with large circular terminal rings and twisted shaft sections, a series of straight hooked iron bars with hammered surface decoration, several more elaborate hearth rods displaying open basket-twist work, scrolling volutes, coiled terminals, and forged finials, and a long iron rod with a substantial twisted central section and shaped ends. Also included are two coordinating brass fireplace tools, comprising an ornate shovel with a broad shaped blade embellished with raised foliate decoration and a companion slender tool, both fitted with spirally twisted shafts and turned finial handles. The varied hand-forged details, dark aged surfaces, and traditional hearth forms give the collection strong rustic and architectural character. The iron pieces exhibit oxidation, surface rust, darkening, pitting, scratches, and general wear consistent with age and use, while the brass pieces show scattered scuffs, scratches, tarnish, and handling wear.
