Striking cast bronze figural door knocker modeled as the elongated head and neck of a duck, designed with a gracefully curved profile, broad flattened bill, stylized almond-form nostril, raised eye, and finely incised feathering extending from the crown down through the sweeping neck. The sculptural treatment is especially effective, with the deeply engraved plumage creating strong texture and catching highlights across the naturally aged bronze surface, while the smoother facial planes and bill provide visual contrast. The reverse is hollow-cast and fitted with its substantial mounting assembly, including a rectangular back plate and two long threaded mounting bolts, indicating the piece was intended as a functional architectural door fitting rather than simply a decorative wall object. The knocker retains an attractive warm brown and golden bronze patina with darker oxidation settled into the recessed feather work, giving the surface considerable depth and character. Light scuffs, scratches, rubbing, minor surface oxidation, and small areas of finish variation are present throughout, consistent with age and previous use, while the overall form remains visually strong and well defined. Measures 4.75" H x 6.5" W x 4.25" D.
