A sweeping coastal marsh landscape is brought to life with richly textured brushwork, luminous color, and an expansive atmospheric sky, creating a scene with strong depth and decorative presence. A winding waterway moves through the center of the composition, reflecting soft blue, cream, and golden tones from the cloud-filled sky above, while dense marsh grasses, low vegetation, and clusters of trees frame the shoreline in earthy greens, ochres, rusts, and warm browns. A tall palm rises prominently at the right, serving as a strong vertical focal point against the open horizon, while smaller distant palms and vegetation lead the eye deeper into the landscape. The artist employs pronounced impasto throughout, particularly in the clouds, foliage, grasses, and palm fronds, giving the surface a lively, almost sculptural texture and allowing individual strokes of color to remain clearly visible. The overall palette balances cool blues and soft atmospheric neutrals with warmer autumnal and golden tones, lending the scene a tranquil yet dramatic character. Signed “T. Norman” at the lower right. Presented in an ornate gilt molded frame with elaborate scrolling foliate decoration, layered inner borders, and substantial corner ornament. The painting presents well overall, while the frame exhibits scattered scuffs, scratches, rubbing, and areas of finish wear consistent with age and handling. Sight measures 23.5" x 19.5". Frame measures 32.5" x 28.75".
