A late 1930s to 1940s Retro / Art Nouveau revival sterling silver panel-link bracelet by Danecraft (Providence, RI). Five chunky curved oval openwork panels are linked by hinged double-tube connectors and terminate in a hinged fold-over box clasp. Each panel is worked in repousse and pierced construction w/ a dense botanical composition of dogwood-form four-petal flowers, ovate pointed leaves, and sweeping vine and bud accents around the negative-space background. The reverse of one panel is stamped w/ the oval maker’s cartouche ‘DANECRAFT / REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. / STERLING’; the fold-over clasp is also marked ‘STERLING’ along the tang. Bracelet measures 7 in. length. Each panel measures 0.93 in. wide across the face and approximately 1.4 in. across the outer curve of the panel form. Weight 29g. Shows light polish wear and darker tarnish patina in the recesses of the openwork accentuating the design; all links move freely; the fold-over box clasp opens and closes securely w/ safety catch functional. All items are sold as-is.
