33g O.Miller Navajo Sterling Mixed Metal Spear Nk

A modernist studio-crafted bib necklace by Navajo artisan O. Miller, worked in the artist’s signature mixed-metal idiom combining a sterling silver base w/ applied brass and copper accents. Seven elongated dagger- or spear-form silver panels — the three tallest at center flanked by graduated shorter panels — are suspended in tight sequence from a horizontal brass tube bar, terminating at each end in a round brass bead. Each panel is hand-stamped throughout w/ celestial imagery (crescent moons, stars, dots, and wavy ‘river’ lines), stylized animal silhouettes including small lizards or geckos, and free-form scribble motifs, w/ applied brass spirals and copper accent discs riveted to the faces. Suspended from a fine silver snake chain finished w/ a lobster clasp and a 2 in. cable-link extender terminating in a small brass drop bead. The reverse of one panel is signed in script ‘O. Miller’ (per consignor ID, a Navajo artisan noted for Southwestern modernist mixed-metal studio work). Chain adjusts from approximately 18 in. to 20 in. length. Weight 33g total. Shows light polish wear and tarnish to the silver w/ patina in the hand-stamped recesses; brass and copper accents intact w/ expected surface oxidation; clasp and extender function.
