Vintage Dietz Vesta kerosene railroad lantern with a red glass globe and metal wire-guard frame. The top is embossed DIETZ VESTA U.S.A., and the lid is marked N.Y.C.S. for the New York Central System. The red globe is embossed DIETZ VESTA. Measures approximately 14.5 inches tall with the handle raised and 6 inches in diameter at the base. Early-to-mid 20th century, likely circa 1920s-1940s. Displays surface wear, oxidation, finish loss, and age-related patina appropriate for an authentic railroad lantern. Untested and sold as displayed.
