WITH THE PICTURE OF A HUNDRED CHILDREN PLAYING. <br>Height:15cm (5.91in) , Diameter:15cm (5.91in) A robust covered jar of Jiajing reign. It has short straight mouth, full shoulder, rounded body tapering towards base, topped with a cover surmounted by pearl?shaped knob. The cover is painted with boys?at?play scene, bordered by ruyi?cloud scrolls. The jar body is richly decorated in underglaze blue with hundred?boys motif set within garden landscape of pine trees, scholar?rocks and flowers. Numerous children are depicted playing games, holding blossoms and chasing one another with varied lively postures. The cobalt pigment renders rich saturated blue tone against white porcelain ground with dense detailed brushwork. The base bears six?character regular script mark ??Da Ming Jia Jing Nian Zhi?? within double circle, above sandy foot ring.
