crystal regulator mantel clock, circa 1900, the architectural case fitted with beveled glass panels and enriched with gilt rocaille and foliate mounts, raised on acanthus-cast feet. The white enamel dial is decorated with floral swags, blue Arabic numerals and pierced gilt hands, above an unusual pendulum inset with a signed painted portrait miniature of an 18th-century lady. The French two-train movement strikes on a coiled gong and bears the Vincenti & Cie Médaille d’Argent 1855 pastille, together with “MADE IN FRANCE,” serial number 4415 and the numeral 5. Accompanied by a winding key.
