Two vintage Doll Baby heads in their original Fibre-Craft boxes, one with blonde yarn hair and blue eyes and one with auburn yarn hair and green eyes, each a molded vinyl head and shoulder plate roughly 4.5 inches tall meant to be sewn onto a soft body doll. The box panels read The Original DOLL BABY by Martha Nelson Thomas, copyright 1984 Martha Nelson Thomas, original created 1975, FCM Fibre-Craft Materials Corp of Niles Illinois, made in Hong Kong. The original consignor listing gave these as Xavier Roberts pieces, which the boxes do not support. Martha Nelson Thomas was the Kentucky artist whose handmade Doll Babies came first and whose work Roberts was accused of copying when he created the Cabbage Patch Kids, so a licensed Doll Baby head carries her name and her story. Boxes are in fair condition with creasing, crushed corners, torn cellophane windows and an old Hobby Lobby 4.99 price sticker. The two heads themselves are in very good condition with no cracks or paint loss seen. Also included are a small clear hinged plastic box and a sealed bag of gold tone metal rings and findings. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
