Kodak Presstape Universal Splicer, No. D 550, made by Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York for 8mm, Super 8 and 16mm movie film. The splicer sits in its original black inner tray with the red liner, inside the original yellow Kodak box. The gray and charcoal splicer body is clean and the maker plate on the lid is still crisp and fully readable. Also included are the original instruction booklet and several packets of Kodak Presstape splicing tabs in 8mm and Super 8 sizes; one clear bag marked CONTAINS 20 PRESSTAPES has been opened, and the others remain sealed. The Presstape system was Kodak's answer to wet cement splicing: the splicer holds and trims the film while a pressure-sensitive tab bridges both sides, so no water and no cement are needed. The box shows scuffing, edge wear and yellowing and still carries an old Gibson's store price sticker on one end. The splicer itself is in very good condition and the box is good. Not tested for function. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
