Kodak Disc 8000 Instamatic 404 and Kako Flash

Three pieces of vintage snapshot gear. (1) Kodak Disc 8000, the top model in Kodak's short-lived disc film line, with a gold-tone trim band, gold Kodak badge, a built-in LCD clock with h and m buttons, and a wrist strap. The black finish is rubbed and scuffed along the top and edges. (2) Kodak Instamatic 404, a 126 cartridge camera marked Kodak MADE IN U.S.A., with a Kodar lens in a chrome bezel, black leatherette body covering and a black wrist strap. This one is well used: the chrome shows paint loss and rust spotting, the covering is scuffed, and old sticker residue remains on the base. The film reminder window on the back reads COLOR II 20 EXP. (3) A Kako 828 electronic flash in a silver and black metal body with a gold-tone reflector, a calculator dial marked in ASA and DIN with feet and meters, a 100 and 120 volt selector, and a JCII PASSED inspection sticker confirming Japanese manufacture. Its PC sync cord is attached and the shoe foot shows green corrosion. The consignor listing called the flash a Kako B2B dual lens unit; the photos show a single-tube Kako 828.
