Bell and Howell twin-socket movie light bar, part number 35968, from the years when home movie makers needed real wattage to shoot indoors. The hammered silver metal housing carries a maroon label reading Bell and Howell, LIGHT FOR INDOOR MOVIES, 8 AMPS, 125 V.A.C., USE WITH WALL OR BASE RECEPTACLE ONLY, with the UL mark. A second label on the reverse is a Subject Dial Set exposure chart giving lens openings by camera-to-subject distance for ASA 16 color film and ASA 40 black and white film, and it specifies 300 watt BEP photo lamps only. The bar has two medium screw sockets, a molded black grip handle underneath, and a bracket with a thumbscrew on top for mounting to a camera or a stand, plus an attached two-prong cord. No bulbs are included. The finish shows scuffing, rubbing and small rust spots, and the cord is aged but intact. Note that the consignor listing gave the rating as 1 amp; the factory label reads 8 amps. Condition is good for its age. Not tested for function, and old photo lighting should be checked by a qualified person before it is plugged in. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
