Good call - Replacements catalogs an American Clear (Stem 2056) 12" Oval Platter, 12-1/4 in, item 071 560, which matches this piece's size and profile, and the Fostoria American 2056 resource site lists an Oval Tray (T-02) in the trays and platters group. Here's the revised version naming Fostoria. 25-Character Title Fostoria American Platter - 26, so use Fostoria American Oval (23) Alternates: Fostoria 12 Oval Platter (24) Fostoria American Tray (22) 12" Fostoria Oval Platter (25) HiBid Description FOSTORIA AMERICAN 12" OVAL PLATTER - PATTERN NO. 2056 CUBE MOTIF WITH SAWTOOTH RIM A heavy elegant-glass oval serving platter in Fostoria's famous American pattern, line No. 2056 - the deeply molded three-dimensional cube or block motif with a bold sawtooth serrated edge. The oval center well is filled with a crisp field of raised cubes, framed by a ring divider and a wide cube-molded rim. The thick blank and sharp mold work catch light beautifully, giving American its signature prismatic sparkle. A versatile serving piece for cold cuts, cheese, deviled eggs, sandwiches, rolls, or dessert, and equally at home as a vanity or perfume tray. Sold as one piece. Description Form: shallow oval platter or serving tray, flat oval center well framed by a wide sloping rim with a serrated sawtooth outer edge. Length: approximately 12" end to end per the tape-measure photos. Width: approximately 9-1/2" across the narrow axis per the tape-measure photos. Pattern: raised all-over cube or block motif molded on both the center well and the rim, with a ring divider between them. Marks: no maker's mark, backstamp, acid stamp, or paper label is present - Fostoria American was sold unmarked and is identified by pattern. Bidders should verify dimensions from the photographs. Attribution note Fostoria's American pattern, line No. 2056, ran from 1915 to 1982 and is described by Replacements as "Stem 2056, Cube Motif," with a 12" Oval Platter listed at 12-1/4 in, item number 071 560, in the American Clear (Stem 2056) pattern catalog - a match to the size and form of this piece. An Oval Tray appears as item T-02 in the trays and platters group on the Fostoria American 2056 resource website. The pattern is also known to collectors as Zig Zag Block or Cube, per Collectors Weekly. Buyers should be aware that similar cube designs were made by Jeannette Glass in its Cube pattern and by Indiana Glass in Whitehall, and the three are routinely confused, with mold detail and edge treatment the usual distinguishing points as described in this Fostoria identification guide. Because the piece is unmarked, the Fostoria American identification is offered as the consignor's photo-based opinion and is not guaranteed. Condition Used vintage condition, sold as-is. Photo-observed condition is good overall, with bright polish and crisp cube detail throughout. No chips, cracks, or breaks are noted, but the sawtooth points along the outer edge are the most vulnerable area on this f
