Two Southern folk art vessels. The left temperance jug by South Carolina potter Marvin Bailey features a brown alkaline glaze and a hand-sculpted snake wrapped around the upper shoulder. The right face jug by Joe Reinhardt of Vale, North Carolina has a glossy ash-drip glaze, white eyes with green irises, and an open mouth with clay teeth.
